Essential Edibles
And then there is Evil Edibles! Avoid this place like the plague.
They used to cater to vegetarians, but now they do their best to alienate
us it seems. We've had plenty of rotten experiences. They're long stories,
so what you see below is probably just the start of what I intend to
get around to writing.
So, the four of us went to Evil Edibles for dinner one Friday evening. Back in the day you could get a kick ass eggplant sandwich on a sub roll. It came with cheese, but you could order it without. So, Che and I did that. Jill ordered the spaghetti maranara, Lisa got some soup I think.
Lisa ordered some coffee too. We sat around... and finally our waiter brought a coffee cup to the table, but it was caked with some red shit inside. He didn't bother to bring a pot of coffee though. This was the last we saw of our waiter for quite a while. So, Lisa got her food, and eventually someone who was not our waiter brought Jill's dish announcing it as Tomato Vodka. Woah! That's not what she ordered. Doesn't that have cream in it? The server, "Um, let me go find out what it is." He comes back and says the cook promises it is spaghetti maranara.

The story of how Evil Edibles ruined Jill's birthday...
This one is a dandy. Jill's work ordered a cake for Jill's 5 days ahead of time. They ordered her a lemon vegan cake.
Jill's birthday came and so did the cake, but it was a carrot cake which wasn't vegan. "Happy birthday, here's a cake you can't eat!" Well, it gets worse...
When she got her lemon cake 3 days later it wasn't even edible. The icing was pure margarine! It tasted like crap!

Just to show how far EE has strayed from catering to vegetarians... At the EE branch on the IUPUI campus, Jill looked in the pastry case and pointed to a veggy stroudle asking, "Is that vegan?" The girl replied that it was, but followed up with "Do vegans eat pine nuts?" Hu?! Hello! What the hell do you think a nut is?
